WASSOOKEAG RETRIEVERS is located in beautiful Penobscot County, Maine. \u00a0After more than 20 years of full-time training year round and developing our successful, positive, motivational training methods, we are scaling back to make more time for training and working with our own retrievers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>

In 2018 we sold our property in Dixmont and built a new home on the lovely shores of Cold Stream Pond.\u00a0 We returned to the roots of Wassookeag Retrievers, moving back to the lake to make more time to enjoy our favorite hobbies of hunting, training, showing and participating in performance sports with our own dogs as well as maybe sneaking in some time for fishing, kayaking, showshoeing and snowmobiling.<\/p>\n

We have since purchased some new training grounds in Enfield, ME with over 40 acres of well maintained rolling fields and a large, natural body of water that couldn’t be more perfect for retriever training.\u00a0 Though our main focus is on working with and training our own dogs now,\u00a0 we will continue to offer a limited number of classes, training consultations and grounds rental in Enfield.<\/p>\n

Classes at WASSOOKEAG are conducted by Dave Robichaud – an avid waterfowler and Professional Retriever Trainer. The Robichauds have earned well over 100 Hunt Test and Obedience titles on Retrievers since 1991. Our unique six week long classes are kept \u00a0fun, informative and perfect for getting Retriever Puppies and Young Dogs started on their retrieving skills under professional guidance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div><\/div>

We design our classes around the participants\u00a0with a\u00a0focus on beginner and intermediate level retrieving skills on land and water to prepare for the next hunting season or AKC hunt testing.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>

WASSOOKEAG RETRIEVERS has a long history of giving back to the retriever community through active membership in local and national dog clubs.\u00a0 We always donated use of our Dixmont property for monthly training days, hunt tests and other events of the Penobscot Hunting Retriever Club and we continue to be a resource for new folks just getting started with the sport of Retriever Training.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div><\/div>
